About me

Hello, I'm Andreas.

With a background in technology and product development, I have amassed 15 years of leadership experience in various senior positions. A guiding quote in my career has been by David Packard: "Take risks. Ask big questions. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. If you don’t make mistakes, you’re not reaching far enough."

As the CTO of XPAY Holding AG, a FinTech company, I played a key role in transforming the company into an agile organizational structure. I led the implementation of OKRs and oversaw the establishment of new IT and data processes. My leadership enabled the company to implement a scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS and develop an innovative mobile banking app with renowned partners such as Solaris, Visa and Mastercard.

At ottonova, an InsurTech and Germany's youngest digital private health insurance, I significantly contributed to the strategic planning and development of both B2B and B2C platforms as CTO, Managing Director, and Information Security Officer. While I was on board, I rapidly grew from 20 to over 200 employees. I shaped the IT strategy and architecture and played a central role in advancing infrastructure and software development processes.

In the games industry, I developed various products, particularly mobile and serious games. Notably, I worked on two titles in the Angry Birds series: "Angry Birds Epic" and "Angry Birds Evolution," which collectively reached over 100 million users.

I completed my studies in Computer Science at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences in 2008.

My ability to master agile software and product development methods while creatively solving complex challenges that few have faced, such as meeting external regulatory requirements, underscores my skills. With a keen focus on IT security and data protection, I've ensured that the companies I've worked for are not only innovative but also secure.

Throughout my career, I've developed and launched over 30 products and services, achieving significant milestones such as securing over 140 million euros in funding for ottonova in just five years, acquiring the BaFin Health Insurance License in 2017, and the BaFin E-Money Agent Registration for XPAY in 2022.

However, numbers only tell part of the story. My real talent lies in my ability to form and lead teams, translate strategic visions into reality, and guide companies on their growth trajectories.

Now, after many years in leadership roles, I want to share my knowledge and experience as a consultant, mentor, coach, and fractional CTO.
